Everyone needs an estate plan -- NOT just the wealthy!

So, what's an estate plan?
An estate plan is a set of legal documents that passes your assets and valuables (home, bank accounts, personal property, business, etc.) --everything you own--to those you choose, describes what kind and type of care you would want if you were no longer able to make decisions or care for yourself, and appoints someone to handle these matters for you. Your estate plan should include at least a will, durable financial power of attorney, healthcare directive, and often a medical power of attorney, although depending upon your circumstances, it may also involve creation of trust(s), business succession planning, and similar documents.
No matter your age, you need a plan!
What is elder law?
Elder law focuses on lifetime planning, including special needs, long-term care, qualifying for Medicaid, and related topics. Elder law attorneys help individuals make a plan for the rest of their lives--no matter their age and health.
