I grew up just outside of Benfer in Snyder County (Pennsylvania). After graduating from West Snyder (‘Class of ’83’) and Central Penn College, I married a sailor, moved to Virginia, then California, and back to Virginia, where I have lived and worked for 30+ years in law firms and legal offices. But PA has always been home!

 

Like most, my family means the world to me. Watching our loved ones pass unexpectedly, age, fall ill, suffer from extended illnesses or dementia, or no longer be able to care for themselves, is always difficult. Many families, like mine, wait far too long to seek assistance with estate planning or elder law concerns, resulting in limited options, inability to protect their hard-earned savings, homes, possessions, or their wishes not being followed when they are no longer able to make their own decisions or have departed.

 

Those experiences motivated me to become an attorney and later start my law firm to help families better understand options to protect their assets and ensure that their wishes are followed. I have 30+ years of legal experience gained first as a paralegal and later as an attorney.

 

While working fulltime, I graduated from law school (magna cum laude), earning a Juris Doctorate and Certificate in Conflict Resolution Theory and Practice. In addition to required courses, I focused my law school studies on elder law, estates and trusts, conflict resolution, arbitration, mediation, contract, business, and employment law. Additionally, I have spent the past 25+ years specializing in immigration, consumer protection, and international law issues, assisting families from more than 35 countries.
